Company

On March 2017 Meptagon Green, led by an experienced team of professionals with more than 50 years of combined experience in managing hydro projects worldwide as well as other large scale infrastructure projects, founded MG Renewables. The company’s goal is to build a portfolio of up to 60 MW of operating assets in the next 5 years in Georgia. The region has large unused hydro potential and rapidly increasing local electricity consumption. As the region has the high growth rate it is necessary that new capacities meet this growth in demand. The region is also close to major consumers such as Russia and Turkey. The main strategy of the company is an acquisition of undervalued Hydro Power Assets in Georgia, developing and operating them. The management team has extensive experience in green energy project optimization and rehabilitation.

MG Renewables is qualified by ESCO, the national utility as qualified participant in the electric market. The operation in Georgia is fully supported by the Meptagon Green corporate team and by highly qualified local consultants.

On May 2018 MG Renewables became member of Georgian Renewable Energy Development Association (GREDA).

Our team

Mr. Yossi Edelstien

Mr. Yossi Edelstien serves as Director of MG Renewables and brings with him a strong commercial background and extensive experience in negotiation, structuring and management of various energy and infrastructure projects in Eastern Europe, Balkans region and Asia. With more than 14 years of project management experience (energy, construction, infrastructure), he is the team leader in full technical, financial and design cycles .

Mr. Grigol Fofkhaze

Mr. Grigol Fofkhaze serves as country manager in Georgia, Grigol has a long experience in project management, organization and information analysis in Georgia as well as in other countries. A dedicated and enthusiastic professional with extensive experience in Hydro Energy Field.

Mr. Ruben Tandilashvili

Mr. Ruben Tandilashvili is Chief Engineer of Lopota HPP. He is working on the project from the very beginning, knows every aspect of working of the HPP and dedicates himself to the project.

Ms. Anzhela Parulua

She is office manager and Accountant of MG Renewables LLC. She has experience working in the international companies, therefore she is always ready to face diverse and multicultural environment. By joining to the team of MGR she is contributing her fresh and motivated spirit to the company’s activities.

Mr. Almir Ajanovic

Mr. Almir Ajanovic, Professional Mechanical Engineer, serves as Senior Engineer of the platform and brings with him strong engineering background and high cross border transactions involving in the Southeastern Europe in the RES filed.

Mr. Tamaz Zikiev

Mr. Tamaz Zikiev is Chief electrician of Lopota HPP. He is working on the project from the very beginning, knows every aspect of working of the HPP and dedicates himself to the project.

Mr. Shota Ambokadze

Mr. Shota Ambokadze is a chief Engineer on Dzama HPP. Mr. Shota is Experienced Electrical Engineer with over 40 years of Field Operation background and a demonstrated history of working in the electrical manufacturing industry. Strong engineering professional skilled in Hydropower Plant operation.
